Arturo Melocchi

The Italian Baritone and Voice Master Arturo Giuseppe Melocchi was born in Milan on December 9, 1879. Creator of the Molecchi Method that gave the fundamentals of powerful vocals to the dramatic tenor Mario del Monaco and the Spinto Tenor Franco Corelli. Among other great singers of the old school. Maestro Melocchi died on October 25, 1960.

He studied at the Conservatorio di Milano with Giuseppe Gallignani, who was also the director of the Conservatory. On 13 November 1907, Melocchi completed his studies, obtained his singing Laurea, and became a singing teacher at public schools in Italy. Melocchi's scorecard shows that he was prepared and able to conduct complementary studies in piano theory and harmony, scenic art, physiology of the vocal organ, and standard cultural studies in Italian history, poetry, and literature. By appointment of the director, he became a Voice Master at the conservatory.

In January 1912 he was appointed Voice Master at the Liceo Musicale Rossini in Pesaro. He held this office until 1941.
